Our Warranty
One year on our labor, ten years on manufacturer parts, and we register the equipment for you so the ten years is actually ten years.
Two warranties, and they cover different things
Almost every warranty argument in this trade comes from someone assuming the two are one thing. They are not, so here is the split in plain terms.
Our labor warranty — one year
Twelve months from the installation date. If the system fails because of how we fitted it, we come back and fix it: parts, labor, call-out, nothing to pay. That is our work, so it is our problem.
Manufacturer parts warranty — up to ten years
The equipment itself carries the manufacturer’s warranty, typically ten years on parts, subject to that manufacturer’s own terms and conditions. We do not set those terms and we cannot change them, so we will not pretend otherwise — what we will do is tell you exactly what your system carries before you buy it, in writing, on the quote.
The part most people are never told
Most ten-year parts warranties are only ten years if the system is registered with the manufacturer within 60 to 90 days of installation. Miss that window and the same equipment typically drops to a five-year warranty. Nothing about the system changes — just the paperwork.
We register it for you on the day, and give you the confirmation. It costs us ten minutes and it is worth five years to you.
What keeps a warranty valid
- Registration inside the manufacturer’s window — we handle this
- Documented annual maintenance, which most manufacturers require
- Work carried out by a licensed contractor — TDLR TACLA128438C
- Filters actually changed, and the outdoor coil kept clear
The one that catches people is the second. A compressor claim denied for no maintenance history is a four-figure bill, and it is the reason Comfort Club members get a written service record rather than a verbal “we came out in spring”.
What no warranty covers
Power surges, lightning, flooding, rodent damage, a system run with a filter that has not been changed in a year, or work done on it by someone else in between. If we think a failure falls outside cover we will say so upfront rather than start the work and hand you a surprise.
Warranty terms are set by the equipment manufacturer and vary by brand, model and efficiency tier. The figures here describe what we typically install; your written quote states the exact coverage for the specific system being fitted, and that document governs.
Warranty questions
What exactly does the one-year labor warranty cover?
If something we installed fails because of how we installed it, we come back and put it right at no charge for twelve months from the install date — parts, labor and the call-out. It does not cover damage from a power surge, a blocked filter left in for a year, or someone else working on the system in the meantime.
Do I have to register the equipment myself?
No — we register it for you at the time of install, because the deadline is easy to miss and the cost of missing it is five years of coverage. We give you the confirmation for your records. If you ever buy a system from someone who does not do this, register it yourself the same week.
Does skipping maintenance really void a warranty?
It can. Most manufacturers require documented annual maintenance, and a denied claim on a compressor is a four-figure conversation. This is the practical reason for the Comfort Club rather than a sales one: members get a written service history specifically so a claim has the paperwork behind it.
What if I sell the house?
Manufacturer warranties are sometimes transferable to a new owner, usually within a set window and sometimes for a fee — it depends on the brand. Tell us before you list the house and we will look up the terms for your specific system.
Who do I call if something fails?
Us, on 469-919-7646. We handle the claim with the manufacturer rather than sending you to a call center. Warranty covers the part; there may still be labor to pay once the first year has passed, and we tell you that before we come out.
Not sure what your current system still has left?
Send us a photo of the label on the outdoor unit. We will look up the install date and tell you what cover is still running.
