Furnace Repair in Celina & Collin County, TX

A furnace that will not light is a comfort problem. A furnace with a cracked heat exchanger is a safety problem. We treat every heating call as both — diagnosing the fault and testing combustion and carbon monoxide before we call it fixed.

Common North Texas furnace failures

Around here furnaces sit idle for eight months and then get asked to run flat out on the first cold night. The usual suspects: a dirty flame sensor that shuts the burner down after a few seconds, a failed hot-surface igniter, a pressure switch stuck open from a blocked flue or condensate trap, a bad inducer motor, a control-board lockout, or a limit switch tripping from restricted airflow.

Safety comes first, every time

Every furnace repair includes a combustion analysis, a heat-exchanger inspection, a flue and venting check, a gas-pressure verification and an ambient carbon monoxide reading. If we find a cracked heat exchanger or an unsafe vent, we will show you the evidence and red-tag the appliance — we will not leave a CO risk running in your house.

Heat pump homes too

Many newer homes in Celina, Prosper and Frisco run heat pumps with electric auxiliary heat instead of gas. If your electric bill spiked and the air from the vents feels lukewarm, the system is likely stuck on emergency heat because of a defrost-board, reversing-valve or refrigerant fault. We diagnose those the same day.

Furnace Repair — questions we get asked

Why does my furnace turn on then shut off after a few seconds?

Classic short cycling on ignition — nearly always a dirty flame sensor that cannot prove the flame, or a cracked/failing igniter. Both are inexpensive parts and quick fixes. If it is instead running long and tripping a limit, the cause is usually restricted airflow from a dirty filter or closed vents.

Is a cracked heat exchanger really dangerous?

Yes. A cracked heat exchanger can let combustion gases including carbon monoxide into the air you breathe. It is not repairable — the exchanger or the furnace has to be replaced. We verify with a visual inspection and a combustion analyzer before making that call, and we show you what we found.

My furnace smells like burning dust on the first cold day — is that normal?

Usually yes. Dust that settled on the heat exchanger over the summer burns off in the first cycle or two. If the smell is electrical, acrid, or lasts longer than an hour of runtime, shut the system off and call us.

How fast can you get out for no heat?

No-heat calls are priority-dispatched, and our line is answered 24/7 through the winter. Most North Dallas no-heat calls are seen the same day.
